In an effort to alleviate problems, humans tend to strengthen themselves with religious teachings, including the use of religious symbols in the form of Amulets/Amulets (Fetishism) as a form of salutation of values. The phenomenon of fetishism among Buddhist communities is indicated by the existence of Thailand Buddhist Amulets in Buddhist communities, who obtained them from Theravada monks from Thailand. Previous research by Fan & Wang, (2023) stated that the essence of Amulets is belief, while research by Srichampa, (2014) shows that many Buddhist communities are trapped in occultism and superstition because they do not understand the meaning of the amulet itself. This study aims to explore the meaning of Thai Buddhist Amulets. The method used in this study is qualitative content analysis, with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis technique. In order to maintain the scientific nature of this semiotic research, controls are carried out in the form of: Continuing to refer to the components of the semiotic method used, avoiding personal subjectivity, and paying attention to the ontological, epistemological, axiological, and methodological basis used (Vera, 2022: 56-57). The results of the study obtained a new meaning that the amulet has Dhamma values wrapped in symbols on the amulet, implied in Sensu Allegorico (Allegorical meaning), this meaning can only be obtained through the process of interpreting the form of the amulet symbols. These values can only come alive and applicable if someone is able to interpret them by knowing more deeply the value of the amulet figure, and applying it in everyday life.

This study reviews the relevance of the Agganna Sutta in providing a critique of global consumerism while offering an alternative perspective to the sustainability discourse. The aim of the research is to interpret the Agganna Sutta as an epistemological basis for critiquing the consumptive practices that dominate the global economy and to explore its contribution to environmental ethical discourse. The research uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method with thematic analysis of academic publications related to Buddhism, ethics, sustainability, and canonical texts. Data was collected through an international publication base and analyzed to map research trends, methods, and contexts used.

The results of the study show that there are three main findings. First, the trend of publications on Buddhism and sustainability has increased in the last two decades, but specific studies of the Agganna Sutta text are still very limited. Second, much of the previous research has emphasized the spiritual and historical dimensions, while the text's potential as a critique of consumerism and economic injustice has received less attention. Third, thematic analysis shows that the Agganna Sutta emphasizes the direct linkage between greed, moral degradation, and ecological damage—a narrative relevant to contemporary environmental crises. The research discussion confirms that a rereading of the Agganna Sutta can broaden the horizons of sustainability discourse by adding a non-Western ethical perspective that has been marginalized.

In conclusion, this research contributes in two aspects: first, as a knowledge profile that maps trends in Buddhism and sustainability research; second, as a thematic analysis that affirms the relevance of the Agganna Sutta in criticizing global consumerism. The implications of this study invite the development of interdisciplinary research that connects religious texts, environmental ethics, and public policy. Future research directions are suggested to explore the integration of Buddhist teachings in the global sustainability education and practice framework.
Jok Kwi Go Hendra Hartono Ferdy Anthonius Majaputera Karniawan Copyright (c) 2026 Author and Jurnal Pelita Dharma 2026-02-03 2026-02-03 12 1 10.69835/jpd.v12i1.790 Perspektif Buddhis dalam Manajemen Komunikasi untuk Memperbaiki Reputasi Layanan Unggul (Studi Kasus pada Bisnis Kurir Agen JNE Harco Glodok) https://jsw.stabn-sriwijaya.ac.id/index.php/JPD/article/view/788
This research highlights the importance of communication management in building and improving the reputation of JNE Harco Glodok Agent, which operates in the largest electronic trading center in West Jakarta. Sutta. In fact, the integration of moral values from spiritual traditions can serve as an important alternative for strengthening character education that is relevant to the nation’s multicultural context. This study aims to examine the values of character education in the Anupubbikath? Sutta through a qualitative approach by combining library research and fieldwork. The research focuses on formulating a model of character education that is relevant, universal, and contextual, and therefore adaptable across religions and cultures. The findings confirm that the gradual structure from d?na to nibb?na functions as a progressive and natural process of moral formation, in line with contemporary theories of moral development. The values of d?na (generosity) and s?la (morality) emerge as universal foundations for cultivating empathy, responsibility, and self-control in students. Narrative and visual media prove effective in bridging theory and moral practice, enabling values to be understood more concretely by learners. The values of nekkhamma (renunciation) and ?d?nava (awareness of the dangers of sensual desire) are considered relevant in addressing consumerism and the negative impacts of modern technology. The main obstacles lie in teachers’ limited understanding, the rigidity of the curriculum, and cultural sensitivities in public schools. Nevertheless, the values of Anupubbikath? are universal and can be integrated without losing their moral substance. Therefore, teacher training, curriculum integration using universal language, and the development of contextual learning media supported by further research and interfaith collaboration are required.

Keywords: Anupubbikath?, character education, moral values, inclusivity.
Sumitra Dewi Kemanya Karbono I Ketut Damana Copyright (c) 2026 Author and Jurnal Pelita Dharma 2026-02-03 2026-02-03 12 1 10.69835/jpd.v12i1.792 Pengaruh Intensitas Penggunaan Teknologi Terhadap Kesejahteraan Psikologis pada Remaja Buddhis https://jsw.stabn-sriwijaya.ac.id/index.php/JPD/article/view/798 This study aims to analyze the effect of technology usage intensity on the psychological well-being of Buddhist adolescents at Pusdiklat Buddhis Sikkhad?ma Santibh?mi. The research background highlights the increasing use of digital technology among teenagers, which has both positive and negative implications for their psychological condition. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design and a census method was employed, involving all 65 Buddhist junior and senior high school students as respondents. The instruments used were questionnaires on technology usage intensity and psychological well-being based on Ryff’s (1989) six dimensions, both tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results show that technology usage intensity has a positive effect on psychological well-being, but the effect is not statistically significant at the 5% level (p = 0.062 > 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.054) indicates that technology usage intensity explains only 5.4% of the variance in psychological well-being, while the remaining 94.6% is influenced by other factors such as self-acceptance, social relations, purpose in life, environment, and spirituality. These findings emphasize that the psychological well-being of Buddhist adolescents is multidimensional and more strongly influenced by internal and environmental factors than by technology usage intensity. The study recommends the importance of family, school, and Buddhist-based educational institutions in guiding adolescents to use technology in a healthy and balanced manner. Jap Elltriana Sapardi Sapardi Yuriani Yuriani Copyright (c) 2026 Author and Jurnal Pelita Dharma 2026-02-03 2026-02-03 12 1 10.69835/jpd.v12i1.798
